Betyy for Mac (beta)
You can now try Betyy on your Mac. This is a beta: it works, but Apple has not signed it yet, so the first time you open it you authorize it by hand (step by step below).
Download for Mac (beta)Version 0.17.81-beta.2 · DMG · Apple Silicon · 184.5 MB
- Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Intel Macs are not supported yet.
- Open the .dmg and drag Betyy to Applications.
- The first time you open it, Betyy sets up its engine on your Mac: it takes a few minutes and needs internet.
- macOS may ask you to install the command line developer tools (Command Line Tools). Click Install and wait until it finishes; Betyy continues on its own.
- No automatic updates in the beta: when a new beta comes out, download it again from this page and replace the app.

How to open it the first time
Your Mac may show a warning if it cannot verify the developer or the notarization of that version. These steps explain the manual authorization for that kind of alert. Continue only if you downloaded Betyy from our official site, you trust its origin, and there is no sign that the file has been modified.
Do not continue if the message says that Betyy will damage your Mac, that it contains malware, or that the app is damaged. Write to us at hola@betyy.co.
Step 1. Try to open Betyy. When the download finishes, open the file and follow the installer's instructions. Then try to start Betyy normally. If the unverified developer alert appears, close it and go on to the next step.

Step 2. Open Privacy & Security. Go to Apple menu → System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll down to the Security section. Look for the message saying that Betyy was blocked.

Step 3. Select "Open Anyway". Click Open Anyway next to the Betyy message; depending on your macOS version or language it may appear with slightly different wording. The system may ask for your password or Touch ID: enter that authorization only in the macOS window, never on this page.

Step 4. Confirm the opening. In the last window, check that it refers to Betyy and click Open. The app should start. If another error appears, do not try commands or turn off security: write to us.

The look and the button names can vary depending on your macOS version and language.
macOS normally remembers the authorization for that app. An update or a change to the file can prompt new checks.
Prefer Terminal? If «Open Anyway» does not appear, with Betyy already in Applications open Terminal, run xattr -cr /Applications/Betyy.app and open Betyy normally. Do this only with the Betyy you downloaded from betyy.co.
Questions about this warning
Why does this warning appear? macOS checks downloaded apps. If it cannot verify the developer or the notarization, it asks for an extra authorization. This guide covers that case; it does not replace Apple's verification and does not certify that a file is safe.
Does the warning mean Betyy has a virus? Not necessarily. A verification alert is not, on its own, a malware detection, and it does not prove the file is safe either. If macOS talks about malicious software, damage to your computer or a damaged app, stop and write to us.
Do I have to do this every time? Normally no, for the same app once authorized. When new versions are published, the steps can change depending on their signature, their notarization and macOS checks.
"Open Anyway" does not appear? Try opening Betyy once and go back to Privacy & Security. If the option does not appear, or your company manages the computer, write to us or talk to whoever is responsible for your Mac. Do not change your general security settings to get around it.
Still having trouble? Write to us at hola@betyy.co with the message you see, your macOS version and your Betyy version. You can attach a screenshot with your private data hidden. Do not send passwords or keys.
